Surfers Campervan for sale

SORRY, BUT ITS SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! SOLD!

Surfers (or those who love freedom) campervan for sale.
______________________________________________________

This is a great opportunity to acquire a campervan that offers a really cheap, reliable way of touring around and having a very comfortable bed to sleep in. I have just returned home from a 14,000 mile trip all over Europe and have enjoyed it immensly. I have had no trouble with it and found the van very economical. 700 miles / 1120 kms to a fill (about 65 litres). The following is a little bit of background for your information.

History: I bought this van in May 2009 (it has had 1 previous owner) and with the help of a carpenter ( http://www.galwaycarpentryservices.ie/ ), carpet fitter and lots of research online regarding the building of campervans, I put this vehicle together. It pains me to sell it now as it has been a reliable freind for so long, but a new job in January means its back to a car for me.

The Vehicle: This is a 2006 Nissan Primastar SE. It has now 60,000 miles in the clock and has a full service history. It has never been crashed or in any kind of accident. It has a 1.9 Dci 100 bhp diesel engine which is nippy, economical and drives just like a car. There is a 6 speed gearbox, power steering, electric windows and mirrors and has reverse sensors. It also has a CD player, a transmitter for playing your Mp3 player and satellite navigation system with full European mapping is included. Although I never used a roof rack there are mounts in place to allow easy fitting and removal of same.

The design: On a visit to Australia last year I rented a campervan for a month.( http://www.travellers-autobarn.com.au/chubby/ ) I was so impressed with the design that I took notes and measurements and replicated the design into this van with a few of my own minor changes. I can go into this in more detail if we meet. The design comprises of a internal dining area that converts into a full size double bed (c. 4.5ft wide) sleeping area for 2 and front seating for 3 adults. The bed/seats are raised 18 inches from the floor of the van allowing the provision of 5 large storage compartments. The bedding/seating has been made using top quality 5 inch foam and hard wearing cotton upholstery material I got from a caravan interiors specialist in Birmingham.

Specification:
______________

1. Lighting: the lighting in the rear is a mix of the existing 2 interior lights and an extra 2 high output LED lights.

2. Electric Power: I have had an extra battery fitted and two 12 volt sockets (cigarette lighter type sockets) by Galway Campers ( http://www.galwaycampers.com/new/index.php ) for powering the fridge, laptop, mobiles, Inverter etc. (an inverter is an electric device that plugs into one of the 12 volt sockets on one end and allows you to plug your normal 3 pin plugs into the other).

3. Insulation: The van was internally insulated using 0.75 inch aero board on a silicone base (stops squeaking and movement) and on a layer of insulating silver foil. This maintains a more constant temperature, reduces internal humidity and noise from the outside. Over all the insulation I had a professional carpet fitter specify and fit a hardwearing corderoy wall carpet.

4. Refridgeration: There is an electric fridge which runs off either the 2nd battery or off the mains if you are in a campsite or have access to mains electricity. It has a 40W motor and would run for days off the 2nd battery without any bother.

5. Water: I have a removable 25 litre water container with tap securely fitted to the rear. Water was readily available in campsites, petrol stations, beaches and hostels etc all over Ireland and Europe.

6. Storage: There are 5 large compartments dividing: food, bedding, 2 suitcases, camping/cooking equipment, tools/spares/2nd battery.

7. Ventilation: I had a rotating roof vent ( www.flettner.co.uk/ ) fitted that exchanges the air in the rear and keeps everything ventilated, smelling fresh and damp free. The windows in the cabin are also fitted with visors that allow the windows to be down slightly without rain getting in and avoids unwanted attention by having the appearence of being closed whilst they are marginally open.

8. Windows: Unusually there are no windows in the back. I intentionally did this as travelling in cities throughout Europe, campervans parked in some big cities can sometimes attract unwanted attention. Not the same for vans. It also allows one to park in areas overnight that dont allow overnight camping i.e. Beach car parks, city centre streets, multi storey car parks etc. As I learned on he road that this is not unusual at all and they are known as 'Stealth vans'. However if more windows are your preference, glass is easily installed by windscreen fitters etc.

9. Cooking: I have a 'Camping Gaz' stove with a large tank and griddle. Many a meal and pots of tea were cooked on the stove over the last 3 months and there is still loads of gas left in it.
